The life of a brush depends on how it is used and the care it is given.
We recommend following care for his brushes:
- Artists who use their brushes for watercolors, designer colors or
gouache should not use the same brushes for oil or acrylic paints.
This shortens the life of the brush.
- Keep the tips of your brushes in water to keep the colors wet
while working with acrylic paints. Brushes will be damaged if
acrylic paint is allowed to dry in the tufts.
- Soaking brushes should be placed in a brush holder that suspends
the brush heads above the bottom of the vessel they are soaked in.
This will prevent the tufts from being bent out of shape.
- Keep brush handles dry to prevent cracking and loosening. Keep
liquid below the ferrule crimping to avoid wetting the handles.
- Clean brushes immediately after each painting session with your
paint thinner.
- Tufts may be washed with hand soap and warm water if you feel it
is necessary. Reshape brush heads with fingertips and dry standing
upright.
- Do not store in cramped quarters to avoid damage.
- Brushes used on abrasive surfaces (i.e.: scrubbing paint onto
rough acrylic-primed canvas) will have a short life.
We hope you enjoy your brushes for a long time.
